bird-ringing beauty

I was thrilled to be able to handle and take the biometric details of this re-trap ♂ nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchosis) who is at least seven years old having first been ringed as an adult six years ago, on the same territory.

Otherwise a very quiet early morning's ringing with only a pair of great tit (Parus major) and singles of blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) and blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) both ♀.
